You want what you can’t have

You want what you can't have, so I'm not gonna give it to you. Everybody wants something they don’t have. They want it more when they can’t have it. Why? Is it because we tend to strive for something? Is it because it makes us feel important? Maybe that’s it. Maybe having something that was once hard to get a sense of accomplishment. I guess it makes us feel special, and that is why we keep striving for more, for less, for something other than what we have.
I remember when I was a kiddo. My aunt would give me a gift, but I would always feel like my gifts were worse than everyone else’s. I’d always want somebody else’s gift. And people around me figured out a way to fix this bad attitude of mines. Every time I didn’t like something, they’d fight for it. And every single time, I would appreciate its value, and fight for it to the end.
Crazy? Ya bet cha. What this taught me is that people find it very hard to appreciate what they have, and what are given to them. We tend to find value on what we don’t have, and those things that we have to fight for.
So would people buy my products if it were limited? Would people buy my products if not everyone can buy them. What if I jacked up the price? Would they buy it then? I think that’s it. I think it’s always best to cater to a small niche if you’d want them to want your product. Because even if I sold ugly designed products, only those who feel they are special enough to appreciate it, will buy it, which makes them feel important. I mean, really, we don’t buy cars, purses, shoes, etc, if we knew everyone had it too right? We wear it to say to people's face, "I look good, I have it, and you don't." And that my friend, makes us feel special.
